A vision board (or dream board) is a place where you can brain-dump all those ideas and dreams of yours to help motivate you to where you want to be in your life and what you want to attract. By creating a vision board you are displaying your future goals right in front of your eyes and by doing this promotes two things:
- The law of attraction – You are responsible for your life and your life is a reflection of your thoughts. The idea is that by focusing on the positives you are likely to bring positives into your life (and vice versa for negative thoughts… and we don’t want that)!
- Manifestation – Writing things down (or in this case pinning the image right in front of us) is a powerful tool in manifestation. It sends out a clear message of what we want to manifest into our life, identifies the things that are important to us and clears space in our minds to think up new thoughts and ways to reach our goals, instead of swimming in our thoughts.
So how do you create your very own vision board?
Identify your motivations: We thought this saying was perfect: “Find 3 hobbies you love: One to make you money One to keep you in shape and One to be creative”
Where does your mind go when it wonders? What images and words represent what you want to achieve in life? What smaller steps might you need to take to reach your bigger goals (ie what courses do you need to take to be able to apply for your dream job)?
What you need: Cork board, thumb tacks, scissors and all your ideas, thoughts and goals for the future (all of them).
Resources: Jot done your visions, motivations and ideas on a piece of paper and then start looking through magazines for things that link to these or google search to save and print your images.
Set the scene: Make it a night of it! Find a space you don’t feel cluttered in, spread everything out, play music to make you feel motivated and grounded, light a candle, make a cuppa – whatever you need to help you relaxed and let the visions flow. GET CREATIVE AND START PINNING!
Let it go: Trust! Don’t doubt your dreams or visions – remember everyone started somewhere. Take away any doubt around money, resources and the ‘but how’ questions. No dream is too big or too small. Look at your board and write down 3 things you can start with right now and how you can make them happen. Place the board where you can see it regularly. Check in every so often and ask how you are going. As you reach your vision you can un-pin the item from your vision board and replace it with the next step or a new vision. Remember we are constantly and continuously learning, growing and evolving.
Are you a member of the HL Lifestyle Program?! We will be completing a Vision Board Brainstorming activity together in December and give you a sneak peak of what visions make up the boards of the HL Founders and Coaches.
